During the discussion on leadership, Moeen Ali paid tribute to Eoin Morgan, who retired from international cricket.
He led England to their first-ever World Cup title in 2019. The all-rounder compared him with MS Dhoni.
“I have played under Eoin Morgan and MS Dhoni. There is not much difference between the two in terms of the characteristics. They are calm, and very loyal to players. Both of them are brilliant as players and captains.”
Asked about Morgan’s legacy as England’s skipper, Ali said that he took the national team from the dark days to good days in limited-overs formats.
“We are horrible in white-ball cricket. He changed the mindset of the players. The way England are playing in Test cricket at the moment is because of him. He made everyone fearless.”
