England all-rounder Moeen Ali wants the national team to win the next two white-ball World Cups in 2023 and 2024 after their success in limited-overs cricket.
The southpaw asserted that he has team goals in mind. England are the only team to hold the 50-over World Cup and T20 World Cup trophies simultaneously.
Speaking to Cricbuzz, the 35-year-old said that he wants the trophies again.
“I want both the trophies again. I don’t have personal goals in mind. I am a team player and want England to keep winning trophies,” he said.
He revealed his success mantra. “I don’t believe in a lot of breaks. I love playing cricket and training hard,” he added.
After losing to Ireland in one of the matches of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia, England thumped Sri Lanka and New Zealand to qualify for the semi-final. Jos Buttler-led team outclassed India in the semis by 10 wickets.
“We played aggressive cricket after losing to Ireland. We played smart cricket after that. We beat Sri Lanka, New Zealand, India and Pakistan to lift the trophy. We played well when situation was against us.”
