The Indian team is set to face the Proteas in a do-or-die match. Trailing 0-2 in the series, the Rishabh Pant-led side requires changes.

In both the T20Is, there were glimpses of individual performances, but the team failed to perform as a unit. As a result, former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar feels Rishabh Pant needs to make changes. The former batter even named replacements for two players.

Bangar believes that Avesh Khan and Axar Patel have been disappointing. Instead, the RCB head coach has suggested that Ravi Bishnoi must play in place of Axar, while Arshdeep Singh deserves to replace Avesh.

Speaking to Star Sports, the former batter said, ” We have a lot of options for the first six overs, so we can try out Arshdeep in place of Avesh Khan. Who can be played in place of Axar Patel? One option is Bishnoi. If two wrist-spinners can give wickets to the Indian team in the middle overs, then they can break the momentum.”

Axar has bowled 5 overs in the series and gone for 59 runs with just one wicket. The bowling all-rounder didn’t have a great outing with the bat either when he scored 10(11) after being promoted in the order.

Avesh, on the other hand, had a decent outing in the first T20I, he went for 35 runs in his four overs. While he bounced back in the 2nd T20I and gave 17 runs in his three overs. However, the bowler is still searching for his first wicket in the series.

If South Africa manage to win the 3rd T20I, it would be their first T20I series win in India after seven years.
