Dinesh Karthik and Ishan Kishan
Karthik picked KS Bharat over Ishan Kishan for WTC final

After three days, Indian fans will shift their focus from T20 to red-ball cricket as India will lock horns against Australia for WTC final from June 7-11 at The Ovals.

A few players have already travelled to London to prepare for the all-important red-ball game. Ahead of the match, wicket-keeping is one area the management needs to take a difficult call on. Notably, KL Rahul got ruled out of the one-off Test due to an injury he sustained against RCB, and was replaced by Ishan Kishan, who is yet to make his Test debut.

The management needs to pick between KS Bharat & Kishan. Several experts have passed their verdict, and the latest to jump onto the bandwagon is Dinesh Karthik.

The 37-year-old urged the management to go ahead with KS Bharat as it would be too much to ask from Kishan to make his debut on such a grand stage.

In conversation with the ICC review, Karthik stated, “KS Bharat will be a straightforward choice as playing Kishan in his debut in the WTC final is too much to ask.”

Further, Karthik rated Bharat as a better keeper than Kishan and remarked, “The fact that KS has the keeping edge over Ishan, I think they will go with Bharat for the finals.”
