KL Rahul has missed a lot of matches due to injuries. The star player is likely to make a comeback in the Asia Cup 2022.
Rahul was left out of India’s squad for the Zimbabwe ODIs after he aggravated his hamstring injury.
Former Pakistan tweaker Danish Kaneria feels the right-handed batter shouldn’t be included in the Playing XI.
“KL Rahul is a class player but hasn’t played cricket for a long time. He should be kept on standby instead of including him in the Playing XI in the Asia Cup,” he said.
Earlier, Rahul had shared a social media note explaining why he was absent.
“Hey, guys. I wanted to clarify some things about my health and fitness.”My surgery in June was successful, and I had begun training with the hope of returning to national duty for the team’s tour of the West Indies. Unfortunately, as I was nearing a return to full fitness, I tested positive for Covid-19. This naturally pushed things back by a couple of weeks, but I aim to recover as quickly as possible and be available for selection as soon as possible.” KL went to Germany for treatment.
