Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are the two wicket-keeping options in Team India for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. But there is a question about who will be the main option for the team.
Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has given his verdict on the same. Speaking to Sports Tak, Gavaskar said both should be included in the Playing XI to get rewards.
“I would play both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik. How will you win in Australia if you don’t take the risk? You need to take risks in all departments to get rewards,” he said.
Earlier, India head coach Rahul Dravid had also spoken on the matter.
“There’s no first-choice wicketkeeper in the side. It all depends on the conditions and the rival team. There’s no such a thing as a first-choice player in the XI for every game,” he had said.
“It’s very difficult to leave out anyone, but our focus is to play the best team,” Dravid added.
