The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sacked the entire national selection committee led by Chetan Sharma after India’s semi-final exit from the ICC T20 World Cup 20222. India lost to England by 10 wickets at the Adelaide Oval.
Dinesh Karthik, who was part of the T20 World Cup squad, has opened on the removal of the selectors.
“It was an interesting development as none of us saw it coming. It is an opportunity for the new selectors to continue with the good work,” he said.
He further opined on the tough job of the selectors as it is not easy to pick 15 players from a pool of 40 to 45 players.
“‘The word sack has been used a lot. Their term was coming to an end as well. They have done a good job. The new selectors have some strong decisions to take,” he added.
