UP Warriorz bought Deepti for 2.6 crores

Deepti Sharma has become the first Indian bowler to complete 100 wickets in T20Is. The 25-year-old reached the landmark in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match against West Indies. She took 3 wickets and conceded just 15 runs in four overs, with Women in Blue restricting the rivals to 118/6 in 20 overs.

The all-rounder has scalped 100 wickets in 89 T20Is. She surpassed Poonam Yadav, who has taken 98 wickets in 72 games. Overall, Anisa Mohammad of WI-W is at the top of the bowling charts with 125 dismissals in 117 games.

No India men’s player has completed 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Yuzvendra Chahal has 91 scalps in 75 matches.

Meanwhile, Deepti was bought by UP Warriorz for INR 2.6 crore ahead of the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

WPL 2023 will start on March 4, with the final to be played on March 26.
