David Warner and Travis Head breaks plethora of records after a double-hundred opening stand

In the third and final ODI between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Australia opener David Warner and Travis Head scripted history as they stitched a 269-run opening stand.

Head amassed 152 (130), while Warner scored his 19th ODI century with 106 (102). The duo brought up their 3rd 200+ partnership in ODIs and broke a plethora of records with their feat.

Firstly, their 269-run stand is the highest opening stand at the MCG, surpassing the 40-year-old record held by Desmond Haynes and Gordan Greenridge’s 182 vs Pakistan in 1982.
