The IPL 16 finals between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings is halfway through at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Gujarat asked to bat first, put 214/4 on the board courtesy of Sai Sudharsan‘s 96(47).
The 21-year-old left-hand-batter, who has a bigger contract at TNPL than IPL, stunned everyone with his impressive knock, as he smashed eight fours and six sixes.
When Gujarat lost their first wicket, there were doubts over Sudharsan coming to bat since he does not fall into the category of a power-hitter. Notably, former cricketer turned presenter Tom Moody had even posted a tweet where he urged GT to retire out Sudharsan as they did against MI in qualifier 2.
Sai silenced his critics in style but ended up upsetting CSK fans who are hoping for the Men in Yellow to lift their fifth IPL title. However, the fans did cross the limits as soon after Sai’s knock, they went to his Instagram account and abused him heavily. There were also derogatory remarks about him and his family.
