The 34-year-old, who has been an integral part of the Indian set-up in the last decade, is playing Ranji matches for Saurashtra. In the latest development, Saurashtra lost to Andhra Pradesh by 150 runs, but that did not stop Pujara from achieving this milestone.

Overall, Pujara has over 18,000 first-class runs but has become the 2nd player to have 12,000 runs in India itself besides domestic Mogul Wasim Jaffer. The former Mumbai player has 14,609 runs in India in domestic cricket.

Wasim Jaffer – 14,609

Cheteshwar Pujara- 12,016
