Sachin Tendulkar MS Dhoni World Cup
Virat Kohli led India for years but couldn't taste success in the ICC tournaments, and the same is happening with Rohit Sharma.

India chief selector Chetan Sharma on Monday, October 31, said he didn’t have any conversation with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and R Ashwin about their future in T20I cricket after the ICC T20 World Cup, saying selectors always give priority to experienced players, provided they are performing.

The tournament’s next edition will be held in 2024 in the West Indies and the USA.

While Rohit is 35, Virat is 33. On the other hand, the selectors haven’t picked Dinesh Karthik and R Ashwin for the 3-match T20I series in New Zealand.

“I can’t discuss with them in the middle of the tournament. They are big players, and if they want to say something, they will come and talk to us,” said Sharma.

“The players you mentioned, if they are part of the team, the young players can learn from them. I can see how the players benefit from their presence in the team. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma tell them how to handle certain situations and prepare,” he added.
