Former South Africa cricketer Mickey Arthur said that Bhuvneshwar Kumar set the match for India by dismissing Babar Azam in the Asia Cup 2022.

Batting first against India, the Pakistan captain Babar played a couple of good strokes but couldn’t control his shot on Bhuvneshwar’s bouncer, and Arshdeep took a simple catch at short fine-leg.

Arthur said that Babar’s early wicket caused panic in the Pakistan camp.

“Bhuvneshwar Kumar is an outstanding bowler, and the wicket of Babar caused panic in the Pakistan camp. He removed the best player, and there was no comeback for the Men in Green,” Arthur was quoted as saying to ESPNcricinfo.

Pakistan set India a target of 148, and the Rohit Sharma-led team completed the task with two balls left. Hardik Pandya became the Player of the Match for taking three wickets and scoring 33 runs off 17 balls.

India’s next match is against Hong Kong on Wednesday, August 31, at the Dubai International Stadium.
