BCCI slams PCB over recent stipulations

The Asia Cup 2023 is surrounded by controversy as ACC and BCCI are not comfortable with Pakistan being the hosts of the intercontinental cup. The PCB had proposed several ideas to please the Indian board, as there were talks about a hybrid model, where India would play their matches in a neutral country.

Besides that, there were also rumours that the PCB planned of moving out the tournament to England. However, in the latest development, BCCI has refused the hybrid model as top dignitaries from different cricket boards met during the IPL 2023 final between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, which got washed off due to rain.

Only the officials from Bangladesh Cricket Board were not present, the rest were there, and they also backed BCCI’s decision to back out of the hybrid model proposed by the PCB. There has not been any official decision on the hosting rights for the Asia Cup, but the apex Indian board is open to the idea of taking the tournament to Sri Lanka, with Pakistan being the host. Soon there will be an official update on the hosts for the Asia Cup.
