The Men in Blue will play their arch-rivals Pakistan twice this year.

A lot has been said and written about the proposed Afro-Asia Cup, which could see India and Pakistan player playing together in the same team. The tournament took place twice in 2005 and 2007.

Jay Shah, who is the president of the ACC (Asian Cricket Council), told Reuters the Cup’s return may get approval at an ACC meeting next month.

“It is a big tournament and we are currently working on the legal aspects.”

However, Salman Butt is not in favour of the tournament. He doesn’t want the cricketers from two countries playing together. He said Pakistan should say no to any such tournament as India do not play bilateral matches with the Men in Green.

“We shouldn’t allow our cricketers to play with the Indian players. India do not play bilateral matches with us. They will not say no to it as revenue is involved. Instead of them, we should say no,” he said.

“If India want to play, they should play properly or don’t play at all,” he added.
