The 2023 ODI World Cup will be played in India in October and November. However, due to winter in many parts of the country, the dew factor could favor the team winning the toss.
The dew has become a bone of contention in many international matches. The 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates saw teams batting second, winning most of the games.
It became almost impossible for the bowlers to grip the ball in the second innings, leading to an easy chase by the rivals.
To avoid a similar problem in India, R Ashwin has come with an intelligent suggestion to counter the dew factor.
He wants the day and night games to start at 11:30 am to rule out the possibility of any sort of undue advantage to the team chasing a target.
“The best way you can solve the issue is by starting the games at 11:30 am in the 2023 ODI World Cup,” he said.
