Robin Uthappa has leveled allegations against Kolkata Knight Riders, his former IPL franchise. The former India player represented KKR for 6 years, but it took him a long time to break his silence on how he was treated at the franchise after Gambhir was allowed to leave.
Uthappa had posted a picture with his son in a CSK jersey, a team he had been a part of for two years.
The veteran supported the MS Dhoni-led team in their qualifier 1 against Gujarat Titans.
However, KKR supporters didn’t like Uthappa’s tweet and bashed him for not showing shame kind of love for KKR.
The abuse he got forced the player to slam the toxic fans.
“I’m not surprised by the hate I’m receiving here for what has been MY experience. Peace and love to you all,” he wrote.
In the following tweets, he accused the franchise of making him feel unwanted.
“So much has been said since last night & I thank you for sharing. However, I have always maintained that my 1st 4 yrs in KKR wen gauti led was completely diff from my last 2 years and that had a huge impact on my performances. I can assure you it had nothing to do with Captaincy,” he wrote.
“After Gauti was let go, everything changed and I felt alienated. However, my love for the fans of KKR was the same and will remain the same forever. I’m forever grateful for their support and I wanna clarify that!! This isn’t about the fans of KKR. I’ll forever love and respect em,” he added.
