Australia T20I captain Aaron Finch has refused to retire from T20I cricket despite failing as a player and captain in the ICC 20 World Cup. The defending champions couldn’t cross the Super 12 stage of the tournament, and the defeat to New Zealand in the opening fixture proved costly for the hosts.
Finch had a disappointing run with the bat and scored just one half-century as the batting order failed to perform in important situations.
“I am not retiring. I will play Big Bash and see where I stand after that. I am enjoying playing T20 cricket,” Finch told Seven.
“There is not another international T20 until August, so that’s a long break. Still a lot of time left to think about my future. It has been a good ride,” he added.
