Aakash Chopra and Jasprit Bumrah
Aakash Chopra named five replacements for Jasprit Bumrah

The 16th edition of the IPL is less than two weeks away. The tournament is highly anticipated for several reasons. Besides it potentially being the final season of MS Dhoni, fans are also focusing on Mumbai Indians, who produced their worst IPL season last year, when they finished last in the group stage.

While the franchise is doing excellent in the Women’s league, the fans are hoping for Rohit Sharma and his men to turn things around this time. Although, ahead of the season, the five times champions dealt heavy blows as their premier bowler Jasprit Bumrah got ruled out of the tournament because of his back issues. Also, Jhye Richardson will miss the prestigious competition due to injury.

Former India opener turned analyst Aakash Chopra assessed the Mumbai team and stated that Bumrah’s unavailability has put the team in a tight spot.

Further, Chopra named five players who can replace Bumrah and stated that the franchise need Indian bowlers. The 45-year-old said that Varun Aaron, Sandeep Sharma, Dhawal Kulkarni, Ankit Rajpoot, and Basil Thampi are the five players that MI must rope in.

“Varun Aaron, who was released by Gujarat Titans should be one player MI must look to buy. Beside him, Sandeep Sharma, Dhawal Kulkarni, Ankit Rajpoot and Basil Thampi are other names.”
