Virat Kohli is unarguably one of the best batsmen in modern-day cricket. He has played several match-winning innings for India across formats and inspired many budding players with his consistency and impactful leadership skills.
Even the young Australia all-rounder, Cameron Green left in awe of him when he played his first international match against India on Wednesday. Green recently shared his experience of bowling to Virat Kohli and facing Indian spinners in the third ODI at the Manuka Oval.
“Bowling to Virat, you can see there is a step up in how good of a cricketer he is. I tried to bowl a bumper to him and he was onto it so quick,” Green was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.
Talking about India’s spin-attack, Green admitted that it is not easy to bat against the quality spinners like Ravindra Jadeja.
“Their spinners, I haven’t faced quality like that. Jadeja is a beautiful bowler who knows exactly what he’s trying to do, Spin some away from you and dart one back in,” added the 21-year-old player, who made his debut for Australia in Canberra.
After losing the first two ODIs of the three-match series, Indian team finally thrashed the hosts in a dead-rubber, preventing clean-sweep in the 50-over format.
An unbeaten 150-run partnership between Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja powered the visitors to post 302 runs on board.
