India suffered a major setback yesterday when premier fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of India’s upcoming three-match home Test series against South Africa due to a minor stress fracture in his lower back. The Test series will be starting from October 2 in Vishakapatnam. Pacer Umesh Yadav has been named as his replacement, who was earlier overlooked from India’s squad for the home series.

But Bumrah is keen on making an amazing comeback. He took to Twitter to declare his intentions. He tweeted, “Injuries are part & parcel of the sport. Thank you for all your recovery wishes. My head is held high & I am aiming for a comeback that’s stronger than the setback.🦁”

Bumrah was also not part of India’s three-match Twenty20 International series against South Africa. But there was a lot of excitement among fans for Bumrah’s first Test series at home. Unfortunately, that is not going to be.

“Jasprit is out for a period of seven to eight weeks minimum. This effectively rules him out of the World Championship games against Bangladesh also. He is out till the end of November. That’s how his medical bulletin is at the moment,” the official was quoted as saying on conditions of anonymity by PTI.
