Indian pacer, Mohammed Shami is in trouble again as Kolkata police have filed a charge sheet against him. Mohammed Shami has been charged under IPC 498A (dowry harassment) and 354A (sexual harassment). Police sources said around 25-30 people had recorded their statements as witnesses. Last year, Shami’s wife had put allegations of harassment for dowry on him.
“Shami has been charged under section 498A (torture for dowry). His brother Hasib Ahmad has been charged under section 498A and 354A (Sexual harassment),” said a police officer.
The Indian paceman has also been summoned by the court to be present during the next hearing of the case which will take place on June 22. Notably, the 2019 Cricket World Cup commences from May 30 and that means the hearing date will be amid the ICC showpiece event. However, Shami is likely to board the flight to England with the Indian cricket team for the World Cup.
