Despite having a poor start in the third ODI against Australia, the Men in Blue managed to register a 13-run win on Wednesday at the Manuka Oval. Batting first, Kohli’s men were in danger of folding for a below-par total as both the openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill failed to put runs on the board against Australia’s strong bowling attack.
However, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja turned the tide in their side’s favour with a counter-attacking partnership and guided the visitors to a challenging total of 302. While Pandya played a match-winning knock of 92 runs off 76 deliveries, Jadeja remained unbeaten at 66.
After India’s comprehensive win in Canberra, Ajay Jadeja tried to take a jibe at the 31-year-old southpaw over an ice-pack placed on his shoulders. The former Indian batsman trolled the star all-rounder by stating that the ice should be in the glass.
“I am worried. The ice should be in glass actually,” Ajay jokingly said in a post-match conference.
Replying to the 49-year-old veteran, Ravindra Jadeja said, “It is night here. You are right, ice should be in the glass.”
Jadeja finished the ODI series against Aaron Finch-led side with 115 runs.
After the conclusion of the while-ball leg, India and Australia are now gearing up for the three-match T20 series which is set to kick-off from December 4.
