Brad Hogg feels that Virat Kohli should not be replaced as Team India's captain.

Former Australia player, Brad Hogg feels that Virat Kohli should not be replaced as Team India’s captain despite Ajinkya Rahane’s impressive leadership skills in the four-match Test series against the Baggy Greens.

Kohli had returned home after the opening match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Adelaide to be with his wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their baby girl in January. It was Rahane, who stepped up and delivered his best when it mattered the most for his team.

In the absence of Kohli, the 32-year-old batsman motivated the visitors to move on from the Adelaide debacle and make a strong comeback in the Boxing Day Test at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

With India retaining the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a debate over the split captaincy has gathered momentum. Many people reckon the Maharashtra-born star should be handed over the reins in the longest format of the game.

Sharing his views on the same, Hogg said Kohli “leads from the front” in Team India and he is irreplaceable as a captain.

Virat bats better when he is the captain. I think if you change it, it would destroy the culture of that Indian team,” the 49-year-old said in his latest YouTube video.

“Yes, Ajinkya Rahane has done a fantastic job in the last three Test matches in Australia. But I will leave him as vice-captain because I think Virat leads from the front.”
