Chopra feels Mitchell Starc would be the most expensive buy in the history of IPL.

Former India cricketer-turned-commentator, Aakash Chopra has made some bold predictions ahead of the IPL 2021 auction, which is likely to take place in February. Chopra feels Australian pacer, Mitchell Starc would be the most expensive buy in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The 30-year-old speedster, who made his IPL debut for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2014, hasn’t played any IPL match since 2015. He was bought by the two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018 but he missed the entire edition due to an unfortunate injury.

Starc also opted out of the IPL 2020 to prepare for the T20 World Cup in Australia which had to be postponed due to coronavirus pandemic across the world.

The 43-year-old also highlighted that  Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who was released by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Wednesday, can fetch around Rs 7 to 8 crore in the upcoming auction.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Aakash Chopra wrote, “Mujeeb to go for 7-8 crore. Green for 5-6 Crore, Starc to become the most expensive IPL buy ever. Jamieson to receive solid interest 5-7 crore and Jason Roy 4-6 crore. Maxwell and Nathan Coulter-Nile will still get decent contracts. Subject to their availability of course.”
