Virat Kohli congratulated the young Indian team and the management.

Team India’s regular captain Virat Kohli, who is currently on paternity leave, was over the moon after India’s historic win at the Gabba against Australia, saying it was an ‘exemplary performance’ from the whole team.

Virat, who last played during India’s humiliating defeat to Australia in the pink-ball Test, also lashed out at “everyone who doubted’ the Indian team after Adelaide’s heartbreak, asking them to ‘stand up and take notice’.

Apart from Kohli, the visitors also missed the likes of Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Hanuma Vihari, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav and R Ashwin due to various injuries.

Several Australian legends had written off India after the thrashing in Adelaide but the Ajinkya Rahane-led side made a stunning comeback to script cricket’s greatest underdog story and schooled Australia 2-1.

Needing 324 runs on Day 5, Rishabh Pant produced an innings to savour at the Gabba, hitting an unbeaten 89 to lift his team to a famous Test and series triumph. Virat took to social media to laud and congratulate the young Indian team and the management.

“WHAT A WIN!!! Yessssss. To everyone who doubted us after Adelaide, stand up and take notice. Exemplary performance but the grit and determination was the standout for us the whole way. Well done to all the boys and the management. Enjoy this historic feat lads,” Virat wrote.
