The West Indian stalwarts Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo are best known for their fun-filled camaraderie on and off the field. These two Trinidadians never fail to entertain the fans with their witty remarks and occasional banters on social media. Bravo had asked Pollard to take the flight back home after dismissing him in the 2010 IPL final between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Since then, both the all-rounders have been a part of animated moments in the IPL.
In the last night game, when the defending champions MI thrashed Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals to lift their fifth IPL trophy at the Dubai International Stadium, Pollard made sure to send a bold message to his good friend Bravo, whose franchise, Chennai Super Kings, failed to qualify for the playoffs this year.
“Dwayne Bravo you are behind me now, I have to say that on camera,” the 33-year-old said after the match.
With the five-wicket win against the Delhi-based franchise on Tuesday, Pollard has been a part of 15 T20 titles, which is one more than Bravo, who has been a part of 14 triumphs.
“It’s a great feeling, means a lot. Fifth trophy. Have been here for 11 years. We have a quiet celebration. MI is the best T20 team going around. The management, the support staff, all the efforts they put in to make this happen,” Windies limited-overs captain added.
