India cricketer, Gautam Gambhir is one of those rare cricketers in India, who speaks his heart out and expresses his stand on different issues, no matter how controversial they might be. Recently, the left-hander was seen attending the inauguration of the seventh edition of Hijra Habba in New Delhi.

He went out of the way and even wore a saree and a bindi to support the cause of transgenders. It was an event organized for spreading awareness about transgenders, educating and empowering them. It was organized by the HIV/AIDS Alliance India. ‘Born This Way', was the theme of the event.

Gautam Gambhir is known for doing charitable work and keeps doing something or the other for the cause of society and humanity.

Gautam Gambhir Foundation (GGF) had in the past also started a free community kitchen in Delhi, which is located in the West Patel Nagar area. It was set-up with the idea to serve free meals to the poor. Gautam Gambhir had also borne the education expenses of slain CRPF men’s children after CRPF personnel were killed in the Maoist ambush in Sukma in 2017.
