Team India favorite to lift World Cup Trophy in 2019

India has embraced the winning habit in the ODIs like no other team in the recent times, defeating opponent’s one after another. After losing the Test series in South Africa, there were hardly any takers backing India to trounce the home team. However, it has become one way traffic in the ongoing ODI series with Men in Blue leading 3-1. Kepler Wessels is a vocal former South African cricketer, who likes to speak from his heart even if it is a critical take on someone.

He has been left awe struck with the performance of Men in Blue, labeling them as favorite for the World Cup in 2019. From team’s combination to players, Virat Kohli and his men have completely dominated the rivals, leaving no chance of finding solution to India’s strength and weaknesses. “They (India) will be very competitive. Barring injuries to key players, it’s looking good for them. They will be difficult to beat.”

He praised the Indian fast bowlers for their nagging line and length.

“Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) swings it nicely, Bumrah hits the pitch hard. He can also bowl some nice yorkers and quick bouncers. So, that has been a big plus as far as Indian cricket is concerned… the fact that they now have fast bowlers who can take wickets abroad,” he said. “Before the Tests, I thought that the Indian batsmen would score runs and the bowlers would struggle to bowl SA out, but it turned out to be the other way around,” he added.
