Sourav takes a U-turn, suggests Virat to continue with same playing XI

After giving his hindsight on Team India’s selection in the first Test, blasting team management for persisting with Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma in place of KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane, Sourav Ganguly has taken a complete U-turn from his earlier stance.

He feels changing or chopping shouldn’t be carried out just because India finished on the losing side in the first Test match, backing Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma to come good in the second match.

The former Indian skipper opined that there are still two matches to go, trying out some different combination can be done depending on the result of the next Test match.

“Virat Kohli should not worry about such things [team combination]. Although KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane have a good history of scoring runs away from the sub-continent and have better records as batsmen, India can’t just chop-and-change in every game. They have shown faith in the current batting and that should continue in the next Test as well. They still have two more Tests to play and I feel all the matches will produce results,” quoted Sourav Ganguly.
