Official unveiling of Mumbai Masters Premier League (MMPL) in association with SAI Estate Consultants on 14th January

The jersey launch is scheduled for 14th January with Chief Guest Romesh Kaluwitharana to grace the occasion at Marine Plaza. Sai Estate Chembur Pvt. will be the title sponsor with Mr. Amit Wadhwani supporting the league in all power. MMPL is a T20 tournament which will be played at Mumbai Police Gymkhana on 21st January.

This tournament will see Mumbaikars, play for teams from prime areas of the city. A total of 8 teams will be playing in Season-1 and each team will be playing 6 league matches, followed by semi-finals and finals. Cricket is one of the most loved sports in the city, and there are many master blasters who could not pursue cricket as careers, but have trained in elite registered leagues. MMPL focuses to bring these individuals together. The winners will get a chance to play against veteran international players, a trophy and a cash prize. This tournament will see Mumbaikars play for teams in prime areas of the city. Amit Wadhwani, Director SAI Estate Consultants is a sports enthusiast who has always encouraged his employees and people around him to stay in shape. He has participated and sponsored many marathons, including the Petathon, Indian Navy half Marathon, etc. MMPL is the brain child of Amit Wadhwani to bring out subdued talent in Mumbai. He believes in being a better role model for his employees and family members.

Amit Wadhwani said,” The players are from different walks of life but they all share a common passion for cricket. We wanted Mumbaikars to feel that we are a part of them and around them. We immediately knew this is what we wanted to do”

Romesh Kaluwitharana comments: It is great to be in India. When I was called for a league like this I was amazed. There are lots of cricketers who do not get opportunity to play; this platform is for them.”
