Kings XI Punjab eye big win over CSK to make play-off

Kings XI Punjab will face the uphill task of not only beating a formidable side like Chennai Super Kings but also boosting their run-rate in the last IPL game to salvage any hopes of qualifying for the play-offs.

Punjab had started the campaign with string of victories before fluttering in the second half of the tournament.

Their overreliance on Chris Gayle came at a costly price. He had started brilliantly but has been a big time flop in the last few games.

Even Kings middle order has hardly contributed throughout the tournament.

Despite the best efforts of KL Rahul – He has been a revelation – Kings are standing on the cusp of elimination.

Teen sensation Mujeeb –Ur- Rahman has impressed everyone with his guile and variations.

Playing for the first time in the Indian Premier League, Mujeeb has troubled even the best in business, providing breakthroughs when needed.

Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, have already qualified for the play-off but they would be eager for a top-two finish.

Having lost to Delhi Daredevils, Chennai Super Kings will like to address issues before they take on Kings XI Punjab.

For Chennai, Rayudu has been brilliant throughout the tournament while Shane Watson too has played his part.

The tournament has seen some vintage batting from MS Dhoni, who has reminded his critics that he has not passed his prime days.

Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja will have to chip in for CSK.

Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Harbhajan Singh and Lungi Ngidi will have to stop the deadly opening pair of Chris Gayle and KL Rahul.
