But did you know he actually is a super witty individual, who is famous for his funny one-liners and jokes. His sense of humor is known to be legendary and if there is a need to lighten up the mood in the dressing room, Dhoni is the first name which comes to the mind. Here's a look back at some instances when Dhoni revealed his humorous side

1. When asked about Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan spat

During the 2014 tour of Australia, Dhawan had injured his hand in practice just moments ahead of Day 4 of the second Test at Brisbane, due to which Kohli had to walk out to bat with Cheteshwar Pujara. Following the loss on the same day, Dhoni said that the incident caused unrest in the side as they could give only a 5-10 minutes notice to Kohli for him to go out to bat. Kohli was dismissed for 1 off 11 balls and after this had a heated argument with Dhawan. Dhoni, though, saw the funny side of reports of the dressing room spat. When asked about the incident Dhoni said, "Actually that was the case. Virat used a knife. He stabbed Shikhar, who just recovered out of that then we pushed him to bat. These are all stories. Marvel, maybe Warner Bros or somebody should pick up this and make a nice a movie out of it,"

"You want me to retire?' The journalist said, "Not that I want. That's what I want to ask you."

"I was hoping it was an Indian media guy because I can't really ask you if you have a son or a brother who is a wicketkeeper. Do you think I am unfit, looking at my running?" said Dhoni.

Journalist replied: "No. You're very fast."

"Do you think I can survive till the 2019 World Cup,?" asked Dhoni. The reporter, who did well to hold his ground, said, "You should, yes, sure."

"Then you have answered the question," said Dhoni.

After a grueling 4-month long tour of Australia in 2014, MS Dhoni famously quipped: "Another 20 days and you can apply for the citizenship"

4. On being asked if he would play four pacers during an overseas tour

Then captain Dhoni was asked about his bowling combination on an overseas tour. He was quizzed whether India will include four fast bowlers in the playing X1. To this he replied, "Whenever we have played with four fast bowlers, two things have happened. One, the skipper gets banned due to the slow over-rate. Two, We lose."
