Assam has been left devastated by floods. There is no respite despite government’s help and the situation continues to be bad. More than 1.50 lakhs people have been left homeless and the Brahmaputra and its tributaries are flowing above the danger mark in various parts in the state.
The influential personalities have come forward to help and are contributing to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Bollywood veteran actor Akshay Kumar has donated INR 1 crore each to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and the Kaziranga National Park. Star athlete Hima Das has pledged to give half of her salary.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, took to Twitter and wrote: “Heartbroken to hear the devastation caused by the floods in Assam. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected out there. #PrayForAssam.”

However, the fans have urged Virat Kohli to give financial assistance to Assam flood victims.
