Kolkata Knight Riders have qualified for the final of the Indian Premier League 2024. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals will compete for the second finalist’s spot in Chennai. Virat Kohli’s RCB made it to the next round but lost to RR in the Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Kohli hasn’t won the league to date.

MS Dhoni, the most successful captain in the history of the tournament, is on the verge of retiring from the game. He was impacted by knee injury during the 17th season but played for the defending champions. Chennai Super Kings were eliminated by Bengaluru and the five-time champions failed to make it to the playoffs.

Dhoni looked dejected after the last league match. Virat was also shocked after Royal Challengers Bengaluru couldn’t end their title drought.

Former India player Navjot Singh Sidhu said that IPL will never be same once Dhoni and Virat bid adieu to the cash-rich league.

“Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are the two lifelines of the Indian Premier League. Once they are gone, we will not see the IPL the way we are watching it at the moment. These two pillars have made us fall in love with the best T20 tournament. It is our privilege to see Dhoni and Virat playing in the competition,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Star Sports.
