CSK's batting coach wants MS Dhoni to continue playing for Chennai in the IPL
MS Dhoni's future in the IPL remains a topic of debate amongs fans

CSK batting coach Michael Hussey has urged the CSK star MS Dhoni to stay with the squad for ‘another couple of years’. The focus is back on MS Dhoni’s future as another IPL season is about to end. Following his retirement from international cricket in 2020, fans eagerly await Dhoni’s return to action in the IPL.

Dhoni prolonged his IPL career year after winning the fifth title in Ahmedabad last year. But what is in store for us now? Dhoni alone knows the solution. There are discussions over Dhoni’s future in the IPL, and fans are anxious to hear from the man himself.

“At this point, your guess is as good as mine,” stated Hussey to ESPN.

“He plays close to the chest. Our hope is that he continues. He is still a really good batter. He does prepare well. He arrives at the camp early and hits a good number of balls. He has been in good touch. We simply need to manage his fitness,” Hussey continued.

“After the previous season, he underwent knee surgery. He’s managing it since the season started. From an individual perspective, I hope he continues for a few more years. However, we’ll just have to wait and find out. That decision will only be made by him. MS likes adding a little drama to things. So, I am not expecting a decision coming up soon,” he added.

Even after having knee surgery a year ago, the legend is down with muscle tear.

“I am aware that the fans would love see him bat a little higher, but because of the knee, we have had to manage him a little bit and he only bats late. However, MS is the only player to enter the game and strike the ball cleanly from ball one. He has excelled beyond measure,” the southpaw concluded.
