Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made it to the playoffs in the Indian Premier League 2024. They defeated Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs to confirm their place among the top franchises. Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals are already in the next round.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis was named the Player of the Match for scoring 54 runs off 39 balls, laced with 3 sixes and 3 fours. He also made smart bowling changes and his field placements were spot on.

He dedicated his Player of the Match award to teammate Yash Dayal, who bowled the last over of the game. Dayal didn’t allow MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja to break free and got the prize wicket of the former as RCB clinched a victory.

Yash with Gujarat Titans in the previous and was hit for five consecutive sixes by Rinku Singh. He didn’t play another game in the season and was added to the squad by the Faf du Plessis-led franchise.

“I dedicate this Man of the Match to Yash Dayal. The way he bowled was unbelievable. For a man who is fairly new, he deserves it,” he wrote.
