Brian Lara says Prithvi Shaw is a a mix of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag

India's young batting star, Prithvi Shaw might have played only two Tests, but he already has a long list of admirers. West Indies legend, Brian Lara is the latest addition to the list. Indian batting legend, Sachin Tendulkar had also praised the youngster, terming him as a "fast learner."

Lara, who has 11,953 Test runs to his name was quoted as saying by DNA, “I see in him a great appetite to learn and that is the most important thing as no matter how much talent you possess, you must keep learning and he has that humbleness. I know he will keep improving.”

Shaw has been compared to cricketing greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and also Brian Lara. But Lara doesn't feel Shaw merits a comparison with him since he was a left-hander. The former West Indies skipper feels Shaw is a "mix of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag." He also outlined that he wasn't as "powerful" as Shaw is at a young age of 18.

Lara also reckons that the Virar-born youngster is a very good striker of the ball, who is very "passionate" and "loves" the game to the core. He termed Shaw as a "very solid" and "good player."

Shaw scored 237 runs in his debut Test series against West Indies with an average of 118.50 and strike rate of 94.04, including a century on debut in Rajkot.
